PARIS FAN

The sophisticates of post-WWI Paris were indulging in the élan of the roaring twenties when a major exhibition of modern design was organized to promote the latest styles in art and design. The Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs of 1925 brought together designers and artisans working in a new fashion which came to be known as “Art Deco.”
This exuberant style was created in large part from the influence of the recent discoveries in Mayan art. The decorative geometries and demonstrative colors led to the moniker Zig-Zag style. Home furnishings, lighting, fashion and even automotive designs were ornamented with these highly decorative but still modern forms.
The Paris ceiling fan is our interpretation, in a bronze finish with leaded glass, of a fan that might have graced the salons and bistros of 1920’s Paris.

Rubbed Bronze with leaded glass shade. Lamping options include incandescent and energy-saving compact fluorescent.
